Medical Case Management
Medical Case Management is crucial in the role of rehabilitation. It is rapidly becoming a very essential tool in the handling of workers compensation and liability claims. Close monitoring of medical treatment and coordinating medical care relates to less lost time and substantial cost savings. All parties involved are kept apprised of current and future medical treatment needs. The injured person benefits through rapid initiation of treatment and by having an objective liaison committed to assuring receipt of quality care. The goal is to assist the injured worker in obtaining appropriate medical care, reach MMI and RTW at the earliest possible time. The process requires objective assessment, planning, organizing, coordination referral and monitoring of the services requested to respond to an injured worker's health care needs. Our nurses are trained in assessing and coordination of rehabilitation needs through contact with the individual, their family and consulting with treating physicians as well as other members of the health care team. Contact is also made with the employer to keep them apprised of the injured worker's medical progress.
